I started my experiment of writing three blogs for three separate websites every day for 30 days. I'm only three days in, but I've learned a great deal about myself. And although I've had to miss a few things this week, everything is still looking up.
Whether this is going to be fruitful or not for the blogs still remains to be seen. But for me personally, it's been an adventure thus far.
Keeping Up with the Blogs
All three blogs are of completely different genres. We have writing, gaming, and health and fitness. So, it's taking a bit to switch back and forth throughout the day. But, it's nothing different than what I used to do on Textbroker.
At least with content mill clients, they tell me what I have to write. In this instance, I have to find topics and keyphrases myself. And I know that a lot of the articles this month are going to probably suck. But, this is all still helping me get back into a productive mindset.
Not to mention how I'm going to manage the YouTube channel after all of this is said and done.
Shattering August's Word Count
This experiment is definitely pushing me towards shattering August's word count. After yesterday, it was estimated I would hit somewhere in the low 80,000 range. But, that's also not including weekends. Remember, this is 30 straight days of blogging, which is 90 blog posts total.
Since every post I write is over a thousand words, I'm confident that I'll probably hit over 100,000 by the end of the month.
If I could do this same thing with writing the eBook, it would probably be done before Halloween. Though, I am still working on it here and there. It really depends on the day.
One day, I spent six hours writing blog posts. One of which was pretty in-depth, so it'll probably do well in Google.
In any case, I'm definitely breaking some personal records this month. I ought to go back at my past spreadsheets and see when was the last time I wrote 100,000 words in a month...just for giggles.
Making a Few Sacrifices
Writing all three blog posts has made me sacrifice a few things throughout the week. First are the YouTube videos I wanted to make. I just ran out of time in the day, and by 5 pm, I'm pretty burnt out.
One thing I need to adjust is my time management. I'm still not fully where I want to be in the day, and some of the time I wasted this week could have been put towards videos. Still, I guess shopping for groceries really isn't a waste of time.
Hopefully, I won't have to make as many sacrifices next week as I'll apply everything I learned.
Breaking WriterSanctuary's Visitor Record
The WriterSanctuary blog is just one day away from breaking its yearly visitor record. It was at 28,702 in 2020. Right now, at the beginning of September, it's at 28,598. Statistically, I'll set a new record for visitors before the end of tomorrow.
If I can get a few more articles that perform as well as my Buy Me a Coffee review, that would be amazing. But I keep answering viewer, follower, and commentor questions in blog posts, which really doesn't do much for traffic as a whole. Eh, at least I'm helping someone, right?
In any case, I'm pretty excited about breaking my record for visitors this weekend. I just hope I can come up with some more content people want to actually read.
Everything is Definitely Doable
It's only been three days, but I've discovered that everything I want to do is still doable. I was debating on dropping a few things from my plate, but now understand that it's not necessarily that I have a lot to do. It's how I go about doing it.
Sure, there will be days when something I have scheduled gets pushed back. But, as long as I can manage time and myself properly, I can still keep everything afloat.
Speaking of which, I better get going. I still have to work out at the gym before I start yet another three blog posts. I'm feeling pretty good about this month!
What's On the Agenda Next Week?
For me, it's going to be more writing. I am going to jockey a few things around so I can get some videos up. And I have a few ideas about how I can at least upload once per week.
Take what you've done this week and apply a new strategy for the next. That's how you grow and develop as a creator. Because success just isn't going to happen. You have to work at it while figuring out what doesn't work. Adapt and grow.
