Ending September with an Epic BANG!

Ending September with an Epic BANG!

Sep 23, 2022

There is one week left in September; how are you doing on your writing projects? I know that I could have been much further along, but I think I can finish off the month in a spectacular fashion. In fact, I've already taken a few steps to get more done next week than I have for quite some time.

Still, we had a decent day and a half of a light rain, the season is changing, and I love this time of year. I find it energizing, to be honest.

So, what do I have going on in the works?

Despair Postponed...Kind of

Unfortunately, this weekend's episode of Despair is put on hold. I've already written the story, now it just needs editing and recording. The problem is that I switched to using the Campfire writing app, so, we have to set my editor up with that so she can go in and make changes.

The story is starting to heat up a bit. I don't want to take too much time trying to set up all of the different changes for the software as I really want to get back to writing. Still, I have to wait until Sam has a moment to test access and then edit the story. Since she also works full-time, it all comes down to getting a few moments here and there to work on setting everything up.

In any case, I hope to have Despair back on its weekly schedule soon. I know I keep saying that, but it's still one of my ultimate goals for the last quarter of the year. I even have it on the whiteboard in front of my desk.

Content Galore Next Week

I'm getting all of the blogs back on a routine schedule, though, I did have to make a few adjustments. WriterSanctuary will get two posts per week while CrossingColorado.com will get three. This is because I am running an experiment on fixing a dead blog. Well, it's not totally dead as it still generates a few cents from AdSense every day. But it's nowhere near where it used to be.

In any case, I've had to make a few changes to what gets more attention as I simply don't have time to write and publish three posts per week for every blog I own. Especially if I intend to keep Despair, the Inkitt story, and Kingmaker on a regular schedule. It's still my intention to have Kingmaker done before the end of October, and I've been keeping up with it fairly well this week.

So, in six months, I might have some interesting things to share. Plus, I have a short-term experiment that I hope to write about in the coming weeks.

Trying to Keep Up with the Video Schedule

I still need a topic for today's video, but if I can get one out, this will be the first week I've kept the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday schedule since the beginning of January. It's been a rough year for the channel and myself.

Nonetheless, I intend to keep the flow going.

Now, is this going to help the channel finally reach 4,000 hours of watch time in a year? Probably not for quite some time. But it would be interesting to see if a routine schedule improves the impression rates of other videos.

And yes, I'm tracking that data in a spreadsheet as well.

Breaking My Personal Records...ish

So, I don't think I'll break my word count record this month. Too many things kept me away from the keyboard. However, I was still relatively close. And since I am now working on getting Kingmaker done before NaNoWriMo starts in November, I suspect October will be a contender.

Just remember that setting goals and daydreaming about success can help you get the ball rolling. But you still need to put in the effort if you want to go anywhere. Otherwise, you'll find yourself spinning your wheels and not gaining any traction to move forward.
