Hi ho!

Mar 18, 2023

If you found your way here, you likely found my game hints being posted on nicegamehints.com. Hi, guys!

I wrote hints for the Universal Hint System (UHS) for a number of years and enjoyed it immensely, partly as an intellectual exercise and partly because it delighted me to think of people finding a way through some of the tougher games without having to curse at them. I wrote hints for all sorts of games, some great (Syberia 2, Silent Hill 2, Sam & Max), some less so (not going to name them -- you know who you are), but by far the most popular were the hints I wrote for the Nancy Drew games. I was heartbroken when the original publisher sold off the franchise and the new owner stopped making them ... and I was likewise saddened when UHS just stopped.

So when I was contacted by nicegamehints for permission to republish my hints, I was -- well, pleased, thrilled, giggly, all sorts of things. It's very satisfying to me to think my hints can help people enjoy these games again without getting stuck, and without having the entire game spoiled for them by a walkthrough.

If you're new to these kinds of hints, you're in for a treat. Find the part you're stuck on and get hints for that part, starting vague and getting more specific until you get a detailed answer to solve the problem. I write the kind of hints I'd like to see and usually include specific hints about parts of the plot I found silly, bizarre, or dumb. Sarcasm is free with every game.

If you find a mistake, let me know and I'll do what I can to correct it.

Thanks for reading, thanks for the Cup of Coffee or just for the read, and keep on gaming!
