I have reached out to UncaughtCursor and offered to take over the hosting and maintenance on MakerCentral.io. As of December 4th 2023, all accounts, servers, and domains have been transferred to me, and all bills are being paid my me. This amounts to ~$150/month on top of existing costs for Level Viewer, Open Course World, Ironbros.gg, etc.
My friends, if you can afford to, I'd ask you to join my buymeacoffee at the $5/month level to help cover the hosting costs. If we can get up to 30 members at this level, we can keep MakerCentral.io running forever.
I've pledged to UncaughtCursor to take good care of his life's work (his words), and to do everything in my power to keep it running, and never let anyone forget who he is (my words). I could use your help.

The following concerns the future of MakerCentral, and me, the creator and maintainer of the site.
Hello, @everyone.
Due to a severe and sudden decline in my health, I have suspended monetization on MakerCentral effective immediately and published the source code for the project.

I apologize, but I believe I will no longer be able to maintain the project for the foreseeable future.
I wanted to publish the source code now to help people make a new MakerCentral, to help the site live on through others.
What happened?
To put it shortly, my nervous system problems, causing nerve pain and widespread neurological symptoms over my whole body, and which my herniated spinal disc was a trigger for, has suddenly progressed to a severe degree. I am now getting several symptoms that are only possible if my brainstem - the part of the brain required for life - and other parts of the brain, are being damaged. These include the sudden onset of irregular breathing patterns, sudden abnormal cardiac events, involuntary movements of entire limbs and body parts, and auditory hallucinations.
Because of this, I firmly believe I am in the end stage for this disease; I do not anticipate that my brain will be able to sustain life for much longer.
I suspect that it was not the herniated disc that ultimately caused this widespread chronic degeneration, but rather, my immune system mistakenly targeting my nerve cells, first attacking spinal nerves before successfully making it to the brain. I was not fortunate enough to receive a diagnosis or treatment in time, however, so this is somewhat speculative.
I loved making MakerCentral. I felt so fulfilled making something so useful, that content creators showcased, and over 150,000 people enjoyed. It's what I always wanted to do in life - make cool things that lots of people found awesome.
It looks like I may only end up with 21 years of life, but those 21 years have been an absolute blast. It has been a thrill and an honor to make MakerCentral and I am so proud that I was able to make something like that even at this young age. Thank you all so very much. Life has been incredible, and I'm so grateful for every second.
I have also made a pre-written statement to be published in the event that I pass away, which I have entrusted my mods to deliver after I am presumed to be deceased.
Thank you all for using MakerCentral. You all brought so much happiness and fulfillment to my life. And remember, cherish the time you have and the joyful moments you experience. Every second is precious.
