The Church is not a building

The Church is not a building

Apr 17, 2024

There's a common misconception in religious circles that equates the church with a physical building, but the essence of God's church lies in the people who believe in Jesus and embody the values of heaven on Earth.

What's often referred to as "church" is actually a misunderstanding; a synagogue is indeed a building, a place of meeting. However, it's crucial to recognize that God's presence isn't confined to any specific building or structure.

This aligns with Acts 7:48, which states, "However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands," emphasizing that God transcends physical places of worship.

Moreover, 1 Corinthians 6:19 emphasizes that believers themselves are temples of the Holy Spirit: "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?"

In essence, the true church comprises believers who carry God's presence within them, irrespective of where they gather for worship.
