My birthday is a week from today. I’m turning 28. It’s my third birthday without Michael.
I’ve had in my head that I would run a fundraising campaign this year for Widows Lost & Found for my birthday. But I kept putting off actually writing the posts. I know Widows Lost & Found is important, I know it has impacted people deeply, and I know it’s worth every ounce of energy I pour into it, but still I’ve been scared to make The Ask™ on social media.
But I’m doing it anyway.
Over the next week I’ll be posting about Widows Lost & Found a lot, asking for support–financial support, specifically. Making this ask is ̶h̶u̶m̶i̶l̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ humbling. But ultimately I know how important Widows Lost & Found is and how it’s impacted our members and followers, and I know that more money will help us reach more widows.
Here’s the thing: there is never any expectation that you would give Widows Lost & Found your money. But if you’ve been impacted by the content we create or the community we facilitate, and if (and only if) you have the means, I would be honored to have your support so we can continue to support our community.
If you’re looking to support Widows Lost & Found in a non-financial way, I would be just as honored. Follow the account on Instagram, like and comment on our posts, or share WL&F on your own feed–every little thing helps.
