This is Kyle, host/producer of "What Kind of Asian Are You?" Podcast. For those that are new to the podcast, this is a podcast featuring conversations about being Asian. I interview Diaspora Asians (third culture kids) about their lives, stories and experiences. I look to highlight, amplify, and validate Asian voices worldwide.
I started this back in September of 2020. It was a passion project with no real big goals other than creating a platform for Diaspora Asians to be heard. For so long, mainstream western media neglected the voices and stories of those of the Diaspora and I wanted to either change that or create a lane where the voices and stories are heard and appreciated.
Through this year plus podcast journey, I felt that I did do what I set out to do. I interviewed many different Diaspora Asian guests of various backgrounds and stories (over 60+ guest stories featured). From Youtubers like Randy Lau of "Made With Lau" to university professors like Raymond Pai of UBC to top Asian podcasters like Jerry Won of "Dear Asian Americans" to Hong Kong comedian Jordan Leung and to artists like Sophia Hotung. The list of great individuals featured on the podcast goes on and on. The podcast also covered many meaningful and interesting topics that are important to many from the diaspora.
As the podcast approaches season 4 (CRAZY), I look to continue bringing you the listeners more meaningful, educational, entertaining and inspiring conversations with your favourite individuals from the Diaspora. This is a promise that I will try to keep to you the listeners that have been supporting this podcast when you didn't have to at all (I mean there are so many other awesome podcasts out there to support). In trying to do that, I will also look to upgrade all aspects of the podcast so y'all can have the best podcast listening experience.
