Greetings from Thailand

Greetings from Thailand

Dec 23, 2022

11 days in Malaysia, I have already gotten my scooter towed twice. First was due to a damaged bearing as a result of a missing washer. Second was due to a spoilt starter motor. Both times I have angels who helped me get back on the road. People like them and you who supported me are reminders that I must pay these favours forward.

Now, I am in Thailand now. If you don’t know, Southern Thailand is affected by flood. Roads are submerged and train services are suspended. My plans to take a train from Hatyai to Bangkok is thwarted.

Still, local friends in Thailand have been sharing updates and giving me advice on the next step of my journey. After checking out train stations in two different towns, I am finally now on a night train from Thung Song to Bangkok (with my scooter onboard).

Just like in life, it is uncertain. We can’t possibly plan for every single step. It is ok when things don’t go our way. We just go with the flow and rely on the wisdom of ourselves and others to make the next decision.

I can’t wait to be in Bangkok the next morning. Thank you so much for supporting this journey.
