The return of the GT-R Touring Cars, last seen in Gran Turismo 6! The cars you will be able to tune using this guide:
Race with your friends
Each more modern rendition of the touring cars is more competitive that the previous. Putting them on a mixed grid is perfect if you race with friends of different skill levels.
To make it even and to give you a rough idea of how they stack up, I would recommend:
Differences from source material & solutions
It was impossible to recreate them 100% accurately due to some limitations I ran into. The feel of the cars is so good though, that I felt it was a waste to discard the project. I do want to be upfront though.
The cars cannot be made as lightweight as they were in GT6. And the R32 and R33 have a 5-speed gearbox in GT7, whereas they had a 6-speed gearbox in GT6.
Solutions
To account for these differences, I made some adjustments which I feel were the most viable solutions without straying from the source material too much.
- Increased power to adjust for increased weight, matching the original power:weight ratio.
- Adjusted suspension geometry for increased weight.
- Made two gearbox setups each for the R32 and R33 - a gearbox for low-speed tracks, and a gearbox for high-speed tracks. They each use the gear ratios from GT6.
Why no R35 Touring Car?
I would have had to stray WELL from the source material, and it would devolve to a bootleg. To be able to build it, I need a base R35 or R35 V•Spec. The trims we have in GT7 are too heavy, too powerful or the power curve is a mismatch.
