End of English Classes in La Victoria

End of English Classes in La Victoria

Apr 07, 2025

imageWe’ve wrapped up our English classes in the rural border community of La Victoria, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the support of our amazing intern Kayla, who dedicated three months to teaching and connecting with the local community.

In Costa Rica, English is a required subject in public schools, but access to consistent, quality instruction is often limited in rural areas like La Victoria. That’s why programs like ours are so important—not only to support academic success, but to expand opportunities for social and professional development.

VN Supporters and members helped us celebrate the end of classes with ice cream and cookies. Students and their families dressed up to receive their certificates and take grouo pictures with Kayla. One student told me that he was going to frame his certificate because it will be so important foe his future.

Congratulations, students!

We need more interns and volunteers to continue this important work. Spread the word!
