Staying cool this summer

Staying cool this summer

Aug 20, 2021

Top tips for keeping cool like a local...

1) Adjust your day to avoid the midday sun. Venture out in the mornings and evenings and enjoy a relaxed afternoon siesta to recharge for the later nights.

2) Take advantage of evening tours and activities - many monuments open later and you can book evening tours. For example, the Real Alcázar runs a special series of night concerts during the summer months.

3) Keep well hydrated! Seville has an excellent system of public safe drinking water fountains dotted around the city - anywhere where you see 'agua potable' - reduce plastic and take a refillable bottle to keep topped up.

4) Bring a hat or parasol to keep shaded and cool, or treat yourself to a new one from one of Seville's many shops - a fan is a great idea too - you will be spoilt for choice for which one to pick.

5) Eat lots of icecream! Do we need anymore excuses to indulge ourselves?! The frozen 'granizado' slush drinks are great too - look out for lemon and orange flavours.
