My Corner
In my corner of nothingness,
I’ve created my own living hell.
I poured my life right down the drain.
It was never mine to sell.
The high that I've experienced is gradually fading. I have found out who I am not.
The answer to all but that one prayer.
Synapses in a state of disrepair.
Even so, a new connection has been made.
The dark came a long way just for a fight.
It knows that I’ve shut the passageway.
I belong inside the light.
Decades of sweeping the floor.
I was supposed to be an archaeologist,
not your fucking whore.
My years have been stolen and taken far away; forever frozen in time is where they’ll always stay.
They’ve taught us that one and one is two.
But in the real world, you run loose.
They’ve taught us that one and one is two,
yet not one child was prepared for you.
In my corner of everything, I’ve saved what’s left for good,
where I create all that is whole
and play with the colors of my soul.
