Egalitarianism

Egalitarianism

I play with the letters
of your name
to see if I can change
its meaning.

I need a word
my heart won't accept.
I can't wake up;
my soul overslept.

Trouble comes.
Different shapes and sizes.
I am too deep
into your nightmare.

Everywhere I look,
you're always there.
I was warned
to never, ever touch.

But they never spoke
about the need.
The suffocating law
of shielding.

Things that seem
to mold you big and strong
make you end up
being too yielding.
