Hello everyone,
Welcome back to our Stitch-Along, where we're bringing to life a beautiful bouquet of carnations inspired by an antique embroidery book! If you missed the first part, you can catch up here.
In today's session, we'll dive into the enchanting world of flower stitching, which, for me, is the most enjoyable aspect of any project, thanks to the vibrant array of colors involved.
You can find the pattern and thread list in the attached file from the previous post.
Each flower will be stitched following the same method. We'll start by working on the background petals and then move on to the prominent ones. Each petal will be stitched from its edge towards the center of the flower.
Begin by stitching petals 1, 2, and 3 of the smaller flower using threads DMC 349, 816, and Anchor 44.
For petals 4 and 5, employ threads DMC 3706, 892, 349, 816, and Anchor 44.
Petal 6 will also use the same set of threads.
For the final petal, utilize threads DMC 892, 349, 816, and Anchor 44.
Now, shift your focus to the sepals. Stitch the upper part with DMC 3013, 3012, Anchor 845, and 1050.
For the lower part, incorporate threads 3047, 3348, Anchor 843, and 845.
That's all for today! Stay tuned for the next part of our creative journey!
