Quick update: I’ve released an alpha desktop app for PodcastToMp3.
The main goal is simple: fix the download pain people hit in browsers.
With browser downloads, things can get blocked, open in new tabs, or fail partway through.
The desktop app avoids most of that because downloads run locally on your machine.
Why use the desktop app?
All downloads are faster and more reliable
Much faster bulk downloads
No “open in new tab” browser weirdness
Everything is stored locally on your computer
Does it cost money?
No. It’s free.
I considered charging for it, but I want to keep everything free.
If you enjoy it and want to support the project, you can always buy me a coffee, but there’s absolutely no pressure.
Important notes
This is still alpha (work in progress).
Auto-update flow still needs improvement.
Use at your own risk for now.
Download + setup instructions
Use the download page here:
https://podcasttomp3.com/download
That page includes simple install steps for macOS and Windows.
Important trust note
I haven’t paid for app signing/notarization yet, so your OS may show an “untrusted app” warning.
The download page above explains how to get around this safely.
Open source
The full source code is public and available to inspect:

So if browser issues have been blocking your bulk downloads, this should help a lot.
