I'm writing a new musical called USEFUL IDIOTS!
I considered just calling it AMERICANS! - but that was too short.
It’s a wild satire about a group of queer activists, who - following the destruction of Israel and the extermination of all Jews on earth - decide to heal the middle east the only way they know how:
THROWING A PRIDE PARADE! 🎉🎉🎉
Meanwhile, a group of world leaders gathers to decide who should replace the Jews as the world’s next scapegoat.
What follows leads to mixups, mayhem, and a gay ol’ time, that just might change queer history, and indeed - history, forever.
Now, why should you care? I dunno.
But if what I just described sounds like a musical you’d like to see on stage, I need your help! Specifically your money!
You see, contrary to popular belief, Jews do not control the world economy, and while I’d love to say that I wrote South Park, I did not. Hasa diga eebowai!
No, I am but a broke unemployed Jewish actor in an industry that, let’s face it, doesn’t really love casting Jews right now.
(Seriously, look at a West End cast of any musical and see if you can count more than one Jew. No, Fiddler does not count. But I digress.)
I wrote a really funny musical and I want to bring it to the stage in London, where I currently live. We’ve already had a table read of act I which went extremely well, like, surprisingly so — people seemed to really enjoy it. And now our next goal is to hold more industry readings, leading to a full proper workshop.
(For those unfamiliar with the theatrical lingo, workshops are where you workshop a show.)
