My name is Jim Poe, and I’m a writer, DJ, presenter and activist based in Sydney. Under the Paving Stones is a blog about culture and politics — a home for my writing that’s not published elsewhere. I write primarily about music and film, with some forays into TV and books. I’m also a socialist, and an avid reader of history and politics — thus, the social and the political is integral to everything I write about.

I'm a parent, and I’m autistic (diagnosed as an adult), so parenting, neurodivergence and disability are important themes for me. I review a lot of kids’ TV and movies.

I’m also a Bangles superfan so expect a few more articles about them than you would get from your average socialist culture critic!
