Ferns and Fiddleheads

Take me to a forest
Blanketed with fiddleheads and ferns
To stare at all day.
We can get lost while
Space restructures time.
Feel the land unfurl under our feet,
All sparkled by the sun and speckled
With the soft sight of shadows.
What will grow out from beneath
The earth, colored like robin’s eggs and tadpoles?
