Hello! I've started a new segment on my TikTok called "Roll for Poetry" where I have a numbered list of components to create a poem with. I roll dice to choose the Rhyme Scheme, Theme, Topic, Keywords, and a Time Limit to write it in. This time around, I rolled: Sonnet, "dark" theme, "hate" for the topic, keywords: home, sun, and hope, in a 45 minute time frame. Here is the end result! Dark Sonnet
Alas my heart has been shredded again
And pain embedded in my very core
No hope to see the light I found in vain
A twisted mem'ry written by the score
Your venom taints my mouth and mind alike
Twists my words to nothing within its breath
A heat exceeding that sun of young life
And scorches my soul until its new death
What home remains is ash by your own hands
My one true love disdained by treach'rous hearts
By ceasing to meet your constant demands
I've become an enemy in this part
I could never wish you bad luck or will
But when I die my ghost will have its fill
