UAnimals is a humanitarian movement founded in 2016 by activist Oleksandr Todorchuk in Kyiv, Ukraine. Our initial focus was combating animal exploitation in circuses, dolphinariums, fur mass-production, and all forms of animal abuse.
Throughout the years, we have achieved significant milestones. We organized the largest animal rights rally in Eastern Europe, pioneered the "Cruelty-free fashion" category at the Ukrainian Best Fashion Awards, and established "Humane State" – a cross-party alliance in the Ukrainian Parliament dedicated to promoting humane values and ethical treatment of animals.
As the full-scale russian invasion unfolded, we redirected our efforts towards helping animals in the war-torn areas. Every day, we evacuate animals, rebuild shelters, and provide veterinary care and vital resources. Our assistance extends to pets, domestic animals, and even wildlife.
We recognize that the russian aggression is not only claiming human lives but also wreaking havoc on Ukraine's entire ecosystem. It is our solemn mission to raise awareness, help to protect our fauna and flora, and put an end to the ecocide caused by this war. We spare no effort in spreading information about the aggressors' crimes on our land and organizing global actions under the hashtag #StopEcocideUkraine.
At the heart of our work lies a fundamental belief: every life is precious. This motto infuses our endeavors with purpose and drives us forward.
