Hi, I'm Denis Bielat, the creator of Turterra.

When I was a kid, my dad found a baby turtle and gave it to me. I didn't really know what I was doing—and honestly, I made plenty of mistakes along the way. But 18 years later, that turtle (Walter) is still with me and thriving. That journey taught me how much there is to learn about these animals, and how hard it can be to find good information when you need it.

Turterra is the resource I wish I'd had. It's a place where anyone interested in turtles—whether you're a first-time pet owner, a wildlife enthusiast, or just curious—can learn about species from around the world, connect with a community of people who care, and find the tools to be a better steward of these incredible animals.

I'm one person building this in my spare time, and your support helps cover hosting, development costs, and the work of adding new features. My goal is to create a world where people understand turtles as neighbors worth protecting—and where resources and community are always within reach for those who want to learn.
