My Love Language

My Love Language

Apr 11, 2022

is food. I love food. If I can share it with others, it brings me joy. If I can make food and give it to someone else and create a moment of happiness for them, I feel that I’ve accomplished something.

One of my big rules with the kids in my program is that it’s okay for them not to like something. They just have to try it first. That’s all! They just need to be open to trying something new. Nobody is allowed to talk shit about something without trying it first. My rule has worked so far! I want everyone to have an open mind about food. I can accept when people don’t like something that I enjoy— that’s more than okay! They just need to be willing to try. My hope is that it ultimately extends past food into other areas of their life— but even if not, food is such an important part of life, of culture, of experience, and of friendship that I don’t want them to miss out on a single part of it.

I want to taste everything the world has to offer and whatever I can share with others, I will!

Pictured below: my vegan mul naengmyeon. The first recipe I developed on my own in 2020 because I was unsatisfied with what I found on the internet.
