If there's something I am creating, a book or course, for instance, I come up with a flexible initial outline.
Having an outline helps me see how everything comes together. AND I also allow the content, ideas, stories to further transform that outline. I don't try to force them to fit a fixed structure.
Because that would just make the whole process quite frustrating and somewhat boring. There's no more unexpectedness involved.
