My Very First Post

Apr 20, 2021

Well, I must say that when fellow organist and musician, James Flores (@contrabourdon), mentioned this service - Buy Me A Coffee - I was really insterested and not just because of my utmost passion for the delicious beverage, but for just 2 reasons: Collection and Connection!

Let's talk about this in a bit more details. For starters I can have a collection - portfolio (if you will allow) - for everything I've ever written, performed or discussed. Whether in relation to music, or perhaps another form of art and expression, this portfolio can be utilized for both my own benefit and also for the benefit of sponsors. These sponsors get to see the inner works behind the public uploads! From practicing for the first time, all the way through to a review of live performances! Even for compositions and tutorials: It's all starting here! Think of it as the inner circle!

Most importantly though, we get to connect - regardless of the distance. I can connect with fellow 'online' musicians or passionate music connoisseurs for the same price as my 'regular with one' cappuccino from around the corner! As I said before, YouTube is great, but unless the uploader spends their whole day trapped in the comments section, they won't be able to connect directly with other like-minded individuals. YouTube is great for advertising and establishing your brand, but to start a conversation with the uploaders can sometimes be near-impossible - simply due to the constant spam of kind positivity!! Most comments are simply 'Well done', 'enjoyable' or perhaps an enourmous single line of confusing emojis which you hope mean something nice! Don't get me wrong, they're great and they always encourages enthusiasm! Sometimes though (perhaps not on my small channel but definitely on the more established ones), it's hard to find the few 'diamonds in the rough' where fellow 'music-lovers' are trying to connect or say something of value that goes furthur than consistent positivity.

What does this mean then? Well it means that being a sponsor, you get to not only witness everything in the collection (the archive of all things musical, great and small), but you get to connect with myself and, of course, other individuals who like discussing music on a level further than 'general public approval' (as great as that is). If you like to learn - no matter how much you know already - you've come to the right place!

You don't have an instrument? No problem!

You don't know much about music at all? That's absolutely fine!

'Thomas, what is music anyway?' Interesting question, let's discuss!

Even if you're just curious, you've come to the right place! You can Buy Me A Coffee and we'll chat.

Best Wishes,

Thomas
