[News Update📢] New updated American Express Business Platinum Card Benefits

Jul 04, 2025

New Dell & Adobe Benefits (Business Platinum)

Starting July 1, 2025, the American Express Business Platinum Card® is rolling out enhanced benefits — most notably a big new Dell credit and a brand-new Adobe credit.

But buried in the updates is something cardholders won’t be thrilled about: a devaluation of the beloved 35% Pay With Points rebate.

Here’s a full breakdown of what’s changing, what’s new, and how to decide if this card still makes sense for your business.

Here’s what’s new — and what you need to know.

💻 Dell Benefit – Now Up to $1,150/year

🆕 What’s Changed:

  • Previously: Up to $400/year in statement credits ($200 semiannually)

  • Now:

    • $150 credit for any Dell purchase

    • +$1,000 credit after spending $5,000 total on the card (any category)

➡️ You must enroll to activate this benefit.

✅ Pros:

  • Much larger total credit potential

  • $1,000 bonus is flexible (doesn’t have to be spent at Dell)

⚠️ Cons:

  • Requires $5K+ spend on the card to unlock full value

  • Not automatic — you must enroll

🎨 Adobe Benefit – New!

🆕 What’s New:

  • Get $250/year credit when you spend $600 or more on Adobe (U.S. only)

➡️ Applies to subscriptions like Creative Cloud or Acrobat Pro
➡️ Enrollment required

✅ Pros:

  • Great if you already use Adobe for your business

  • A valuable perk that didn’t exist before

⚠️ Cons:

  • No partial credit — must spend the full $600

  • U.S. purchases only

  • Not useful if you don’t use Adobe tools

🔁 The 35% Pay With Points Rebate Is Changing — And That’s a Big Deal

One of the most valuable (and underrated) perks of the Amex Business Platinum Card® has been the 35% rebate when using Membership Rewards points to book flights through Amex Travel. This applied to:

  • Any class of ticket on your selected U.S. airline (the one you pick for your airline fee credit), and

  • First or business class tickets on any airline

This effectively gave you up to 1.54¢ per point in value — a big step up from the standard 1.0¢ — and applied to all Amex points linked to your account, not just those earned on the Business Platinum.

🚨 But Starting September 18, 2025…The rebate is getting more restrictive:

You'll no longer get the 35% rebate on premium cabin tickets with any airline.

Going forward, the rebate will only apply to flights (any class) on your chosen U.S. airline.

If you used this to book international business or first class flights on airlines like Lufthansa, ANA, or Qatar, this is a major downgrade. That flexibility is gone.

But if you’re loyal to one U.S. airline and already book economy or premium flights through Amex Travel, you’ll still get solid value.

Bottom line: This perk isn’t dead — but for many, it just got a lot less exciting.

🧠 Bottom Line: Is the Amex Business Platinum Still Worth It?

It depends.

Best for you if:

  • You already spend $5K+ per year and can max out the Dell credit

  • You use Adobe, CLEAR, Hilton, Indeed, or wireless credits naturally

  • You fly one U.S. airline often and can still use Pay With Points effectively

Less ideal if:

  • You were mainly using the card to redeem points for international business class

  • You have to “force” your spending just to chase credits

  • You don’t value lounge access or CLEAR

👉 As always, don’t chase perks you won’t use. This card still offers strong value — but only for the right kind of business owner.
