Today , I chose joy over following rules, and I had a cupcake for breakfast with my morning coffee! Yes, I am still very much on my weight loss and health journey, and I know most of the experts would say the cake or any sweet treat is not a good idea or allowed while dieting and working to lose weight.
But this morning I woke up not feeling my best and had zero motivation for anything, it happens to us all. My little one was up and already dancing around and playing happily and asked if he could have a cupcake for breakfast. I started to tell him no, but then he announced, "Having cake or a doughnut for breakfast just make the day better." He is five and I could see they joy that cupcake would give him and I gave in. I looked at the adorable Halloween cupcakes and thought why not. I took one of the treats for myself to enjoy along with my coffee. I don't know what it was about that cupcake, but after enjoying it, I did in fact feel better.
I managed to get through the daily school lessons with my little man, got an episode done for my kindle vella, a full 1100 words! Got social media post done, and a little cleaning. And once I finish this blog post, I am going to do a walking workout! Then I have some videos I need to finish recording and editing to post! I chose joy this morning and I am doing more! And that conversation with little man, might have inspired my next book Cake for Breakfast and other Life lessons! Stay tuned for updates!
So, whatever you are working on I challenge you to choose joy as part of the game plan. You see that cupcake didn't put me off track, I am going to eat healthy the rest of the day and will not feel deprived. I am going to work out, so it will be fine. In fact, I think by allowing myself the joy of having a little treat in the morning just might be the key to keeping me on track!
