My adsense wasn't approved for the new website. It was rejected due to "low value content". It took about 3 weeks for the rejection. :/ This is not encouraging.
I was reading through various help guides, reddit posts, etc, but nothing really helped in explaining why the blog got the low value content rating, when the old site on blogger ran ads just fine.
I am not sure if re-applying makes much sense if the site is to be rejected again, with users being rejected many times.
If I can't get adsense approved in the next few months, then the site won't have much of a future. If Google doesn't see any value in the blog, maybe there is no sense in keeping it online.
Relying on donations to keep the site running is not sustainable short or long term.
edit, just been told the site doesn't really have a chance to get adsense approval, so ya things are not looking positive.
