Today, for the first time, I took a brave step by mentioning my Buy Me a Coffee account on my podcast. I have to admit I'm probably part of a generation that is still getting used to the idea that people donate money to enable someone else to do something they love.
I often wish I had a tangible product to send people in return for their kindness, but then people tell me regularly that you can give to others and bless them in other ways. And of course I know that in my heart, yet somehow find it hard to believe others might want to do this for me.
The reality is, if you can do what you love full-time forever with no pay - you're either very rich or you need to share your secret.
I would love to make a living from what I'm doing now; helping those going through loss and teaching others about it before they face it. I hope people will join me on that journey and benefit from every minute I spend trying to help and connect people who's hearts are in pain.

I have a lot of things I want to provide in the future, if I can sustain this work financially; a podcast that shares stories of loss otherwise unheard or unappreciated, a blog from a life that's not perfect, courses people can do to help them get through grief and loss, novels for those that want to get lost in a world that isn't run by perfect protagonists with happy families, non-fiction books full of Hermans (www.thesilentwhy.com/herman) and types of loss, and most of all, helping people find new ways to discover joy in loss, and find hope in any form of grief.
