🌱 Garden time - Hugel Beds 🌱

Apr 07, 2021

To make a Hugel Bed just add old logs and sticks on the bottom of a garden bed, compost and mulch on top, and here it is. They can also be made as raised beds, with no digging needed.

It’s a great way to repurpose pruned branches or unwanted wood by mimicking the natural way things work in a woodland. In a forest, the fallen branches will act like a sponge, soaking up in the rain and then slowly releasing the water in the surrounding soil, offering a drink to nearby plants long after the rain is gone.

The decomposing wood will also act like a yummy natural fertilizer for the neighbouring greens year after year🌱

Curious to hear your experience ^_^ if you already tried it tell us about it in the comments. 🍂

We’re excited to be able to see the difference between the no dig, Hugel and traditional dug beds when Autumn comes 🍂

Let there be veggies!
