This video was filmed during our visit to indonesia for the purpose of attening the opening ceremony of the Quran tahfiz school for oprhan girls called Nurul Quran. You can find a link to that video on my channel here. We took time out and arranged to drive to this special pesantren (Islamic boarding school for boys) to meet with Ustad Salman from Ruhama al-Fajr Pesantren, as what is unique about this school is that its an eco-school that produces all the food it requires to feed the orphan children studying and living onsite!
We discovered more about his role at the school and their efforts to generate income through small agricultural ventures. This helps sustain the school, providing free meals for the children while they study Islam, memorize the Quran, learn Shafii fiqh, Seerah, Aqidah, Tafsir, and gain valuable farming skills.
