I am developing an aversion to plastic. I don't want to have to keep buying it and today we've published research from the WWF and the Australian Marine Conservation Society that: plastics Australians consume in one year produce as much greenhouse gas as 5.7 million cars on our roads annually and Australia’s plastic emissions will more than double by 2050 if we continue on our current path.
We need to stop making virgin plastic from fossil fuels but it's a process consumers have little control over. It is something we feel very passionate about at The Point. We will keep exposing who the big plastic producers are until we find a way to stop the production of virgin plastic altogether.
