Mazā reportāža no Skatres (Bernātu) un Jūrmalciema baznīcām aizvadītajā nedēļas nogalē.
Jūrmalciema baznīcas pirmā posma darbi un pamatu pārbūve tuvojas finišam. Izdarīts liels darbs, lai (burtiski) ieliktu pamatu visiem nākamajiem darbiem. Par to vislielākais paldies Jūrmalciema meistaru komandai par pašaizliedzīgu darbu, kuru lielākā daļa būtu atteikuši.
Jaunie pamati vēl jaapmet, jānolīdzina apkārt esošā zeme un tad varēsim turpināt ar rietumu gala sienas nesošo konstrukciju saglābšanu. Pie reizes, cerība ir arī nomainīt pirmos divus logus.
Otra pietura — Skatres baznīca Bernātos. Šeit priekšā arī vēl lieli darbi, kurus ar Dievpalīgu ticam, ka izdosies realizēt. Ierīkot pamata lietas — ūdeni, labierīcības un pārējo nepieciešamo. Bet pagaidām izdarām minimumu — nopļaujam un sakopjam apkārtni, apciemojam un iepazīstamies ar kaimiņiem.
Ja vasaras sezonā sanāk būt rietumkrasta pusē, brauciet ciemos. Piedzīvot baznīcas, redzēt un sajust savām acīm.

A short report from the Skatre (Bernāti) and Jūrmalciems churches from last weekend.
The first stage of the Jūrmalciems church reconstruction works on the foundations are nearing completion. A lot of work has been done to (literally) lay the foundation for all the future work. For this, huge thanks to the Jūrmalciems team of craftsmen for their work, which most would have refused.
The new foundations still need to be plastered, the surrounding land leveled, and then we will be able to continue with the preservation of the load-bearing structures of the western end wall. And we hope to replace the first two windows as well.
The second stop — Skatre church in Bernāti where we hope, with the help of God, to do meaningful improvements. Install the basics, water, utilities and other necessary things. But for now, we are doing the bare minimum. Mowing and cleaning up the area, visiting and getting to know our neighbors.
