Flybuys and Velocity are running a new transfer promo where you can earn up to 1,000 bonus Points when moving your Flybuys balance across until 30 April 2026.
The bonus depends on how you transfer:
250 Flybuys + 250 Velocity bonus points on your next manual transfer (My recommendation)
500 Flybuys + 500 Velocity bonus points if you enable Auto Transfer for the very first time.
If you’ve already used Auto Transfer before, you can still get the smaller 250/250 bonus by doing a manual transfer.
Is It Worth It?
These fixed-amount transfer bonuses can be handy, but they’re not as lucrative as the 5–15% bonus offers that pop up from time to time but unfortunately, we have had one in 12 months!
For example, if you’ve got a big Flybuys balance, those percentage-based promos can be worth tens of thousands of extra Velocity Points — far more than the flat 1,000 bonus on offer here.
For that reason, the smartest move for most people is to:
Do a manual transfer of the minimum 1,000 Flybuys points to trigger the 250/250 bonus, and
Save the rest of your balance for a bigger transfer bonus down the track (unless you urgently need points to lock in a flight).
Be Cautious with the Auto Transfer!
As for the 500/500 Auto Transfer bonus, be cautious. If you enable Auto Transfer for the first time now, you’re locking yourself out of being able to time your transfers for future percentage-based bonuses — and potentially giving up thousands of points.
Bottom line: This is a decent freebie if you just move 1,000 points manually, but unless you’re desperate for Velocity Points today, don’t tie yourself up with Auto Transfer.
