A little bit about me:  My name is Penny -- I've loved singing FOREVER.... can't take me anywhere without me bursting into song in the middle of whatever it is we are doing, lol.  My husband surprised me for my 40th birthday with a trip to Elderly Instruments in Lansing, MI to pick out whatever ukulele my heart desired.  I tried multiple times to try to learn how to play it, only to be absolutely crushed when I just couldn't understand it.  For seven years it basically sat in it's case collecting dust and it made me so sad that I couldn't figure it out.  In January 2019 I took an online ukulele course thru Udemy.com -- just sat down and flew thru the program in one day -- by the end of the course I was playing (and understanding) multiple chords and it actually sounded like music!!  It took me 2 months for my brain to figure out how to play and sing at the same time, and I did my first Open Mic night 4 months later -- I was rough, for sure, but I was also HOOKED!  I had FINALLY figured out how to play my beautiful Kala ukulele and it was so much more fun than I had imagined!  I think because I had struggled with it for so long, I just get so much joy out of playing it!

So why am I The Kipi Chick??  Kipi is our VW bus that we love to take on adventures!  We named her Kipi because she's the same color as the most beautiful place in the world Kitch-iti-kipi!  We travel in our Kipi bus and I play my music, so... that makes me The Kipi Chick ;-)
