So I have just been reading on the news and through a few news articles about the orange pumpkin, Mr T Rump) has knocked down the east wing of the White House in order to build a new ballroom and he's got donors to pay for it all circa $180m. Now surely the aim of the White House is that it is there for all elected presidents Democrat or Republican or third way if America ever went that way. But over here in the UK whoever becomes Prime Minister, their residence No.10 Downing Street, they are seen as the caretaker on behalf of the electorate. It would be political suicide for a PM to change half the residence into something else or something for them.
To be honest I think most American's probably feel the same way about their White House, and afterall that is what it is THEIR White House. If we carry on Trump's thinking let's change the faces on Mount Rushmore, obviously 5 presidents h would approve of. It's just scandalous that Trump is allowed to get away with this, and this is why he is called a dictator, someone who thinks he can do what he wants.
What is everyone else's opinions on this? Should a president be able to do what they want or should there be limits?
