“Theatre comes from a place of joy!” I tell my students - and this joy serves to empower student artists in finding their authentic voices while not neglecting what makes them who they are.
We share this work and we celebrate every story told – and we celebrate the process behind it, the joy of creation. It is not enough to integrate the arts into the general classroom or the reverse – to teach the arts for arts’ sake. We must empower our learners, no matter their age, to develop their own point of view, their own aesthetic valuing system, and their own way of telling their unique stories.
