1. Invention and Development:
The Fisher Space Pen was invented by American inventor Paul C. Fisher in the 1960s.
Fisher was inspired to create a pen that could write in space after learning that regular ballpoint pens didn't work in the weightlessness of space due to the reliance on gravity to move ink.
⠀2. Proprietary Ink Cartridge:
One of the key innovations of the Fisher Space Pen is its specially formulated ink, which is a viscoelastic, thixotropic ink that is pressurized inside a sealed cartridge.
This pressurized ink cartridge allows the pen to write in any position, including underwater, over grease, and in extreme temperatures ranging from -30°F to 250°F (-35°C to 121°C).
