Oracle Card of the Day: Fluid Wave

Oracle Card of the Day: Fluid Wave

Jan 16, 2023

I hope that whoever is reading this is having a great day so far. If not, I hope it gets better for you.

This card comes from the Oracle of Great Mystics deck.

More than likely, in every new post I write about cards from this deck, I’ll probably say that each card is beautiful. It will be true every time that I say it. Today’s card is Fluid Wave.

To quote the guidebook, “Water is an element of change.”

The way that I interpret this card, if I were doing a reading for myself or someone else, I would say that either the querent is a very adaptable person or perhaps they should be more open to change. The thing about waves is that they can be as beautiful as they are devastating. The title of this card is “Fluid Wave” which leads me to think that this wave isn’t necessarily a chaotic one. Water takes the shape of whatever vessel it is in. It changes according to the temperature surrounding it. If it is cold, water freezes. If it is hot enough, water eventually boils. The human body consists of primarily water. The planet on which we live is mostly water. Water is necessary to our survival.

The description on the card encourages the querent to be open to change and to settle into roles, but I am also thinking that it is important to be as necessary as water. To provide such a service that life just isn’t the same without you and to also realize the power that you have that you could either restore life or take it away. Without water, we die, but with too much water we drown. Heaven knows the suffering some people have experienced as a result of a burst pipe or flood. As I type this, I am reminded of a quote from Bruce Lee and I will close this post with it.

“Be Water, My Friend.
Empty your mind.
Be formless, shapeless, like water.
You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup.
You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle.
You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot.
Now water can flow or it can crash.
Be water, my friend.”
