Count Dooku is my favourite Sith in Star Wars. I didn't need more reasons to love him - and yet here they are. This episode depicts his hope to cling to the Jedi Code in the face of a Republic who has used it as its own magic-using police force, and this is one of the main things that informs his eventual betrayal of both the Jedi and the Republic.
