Hi Chaps,
Well, I hope you all enjoyed the festive season and marked the turning of the New Year with some suitable celebrations. I personally had a quiet new year and have embarked upon a few weeks of abstaining from alcohol and eating well to ensure my body has recovered from all those treats over Christmas. I always find January to be a drab and depressing month, as it's the coldest part of the year in the UK and the spring still seems like a long way off.
But, it's also a great time dress up warmly in your best overcoat and do battle with the elements - style will never be defeated by the cold and wet and as I write this post, I am about to leave to attend a Rotary Club luncheon dressed in a 3-piece suit and thick woolen overcoat, so I'm not too worried about the weather today (a cool -4 degrees celsius).
I'm heading out into the woods over the weekend to film a long-planned video in my woodland retreat (Oak Lodge), where I shall be surviving entirely on a French Army ration pack for 24-hours. It is a follow-on from the review videos that I have previously filmed on British and Lithuanian Army ration packs, so I have high hopes for the French version, as they have a strong reputation for culinary excellence.
I hope you are all making the month of January as bearable as possible. See you next week.
Ash
