Episode 74 - 8 Ways to Bolster your Mental Health?

Jul 31, 2022

(I believe in practising before preaching so these are my tried and tested methods)

1. Mental and Physical Fitness - for my mental health, I meditate for 1 hour every single day and for my physical fitness, I run for 20 minutes every single day. The result is that I am in the best shape of my life both mentally and physically.

2. Rule of Simplicity - learn to remove all the clutter from your life and focus only on the most important goal. Make your life as simple as possible. Simplicity is a sign of strong mental health and profound happiness. Instead of adding things to your life focus on removing things. A garden with weeds 🌿 looks like an abandoned wasteland but a garden without weeds looks like a happy place.

3. Read and write - Always keep two books with you all the time.

- one to read.

- one to write.

writing your thoughts not only gives you clarity of mind but also develops you as an original thinker. Who knows if you are consistent enough with your writing one day you can be a New York Times best selling author.

4. A friend to all is a friend to None - always focus on the quality of your relationships rather than the quantity. You don't need 10 friends to be happy, all you need is just one friend and devote your life to that person and you will live a very profound and happy life.

5. Be Honest - Honesty is always the best policy. the most important thing in life is, to be honest with yourself. The state of denial is as beautiful as the hell itself. You can never heal others unless you heal yourself first. So, always be honest about your pain, failures and regrets. the only way to avoid hell is by crossing it. the only way to kill your fear is by facing it.

“If we start being honest about our pain, our anger, and our shortcomings instead of pretending they don’t exist, then maybe we’ll leave the world a better place than we found it.”

– Russell Wilson

6. Talk, Talk and Talk. period.

- talk to the trees. ( I have 5 trees best friends 😂)

- talk to the flowers.

-talk to animals.

-talk to humans.

and most importantly talk to yourself.

"What mental health needs are more sunlight, more candour, and more unashamed conversation.”

– Glenn Close

7. Long term planning - Always have a long term plan ready (10 years -20 years)

I like to call it a North star of my life and Career and then get lost in the right direction. Believe me, there is nothing more beautiful than getting lost in the right direction.

8. Patience - It's the biggest virtue a man can master. once you master patience, you master life. Always remember that Nature doesn't hurry and yet everything is accomplished. and never lose faith because Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark.

This is how I keep my mental health in perfect shape. I hope it helps you as well.
