“It’s Sunday morning…the weather is calm and easy with a subtle feeling that beckons you outdoors and down the sidewalk.
You stroll past the Barber shop and for a moment, the red and white strobe over the door catches your eye as the candy cane stripes swirl around in a rhythmic pattern.
The air is crisp but filled with warm pockets of sunshine that penetrate the cool shadows.
Just past Wilson’s Hardware store, the newspaper stand overflows with a stack of The Sunday Herald.
You drop two quarters in the can and glance at the headlines as you walk around the corner; finding yourself standing in front of a chalkboard sign that’s propped up next to an open doorway.
It reads, “We don’t have WiFi. Talk to each other!”
Your stomach growls at the smell of fresh coffee and donuts drifting through the sunlit entrance. Loud chatter fills the atmosphere, drawing you to step inside as a familiar voice calls your name.“
