I started TurfOps Weekly because I love the operations and equipment side of golf and turf.
Not the polished version you see in brochures. The real version. The equipment decisions, the maintenance habits, the shop culture, and the people who keep everything running long before golfers arrive or stadium lights turn on.
After years working in the turf equipment world, traveling to courses and shops across the country, I realized something. The industry has a lot of knowledge and experience, but very few places where the operational side of the work is explored thoughtfully and honestly.
TurfOps Weekly is my attempt to change that.
Each week I write about equipment, maintenance systems, autonomy, and the evolving realities of modern turf operations. Sometimes it’s a field story. Sometimes it’s a technical concept explained more clearly. Sometimes it’s simply asking better questions about where the work is headed.
Along the way I also publish free reports and guides for the industry. My goal is simple: create useful, thoughtful content that respects the people doing the work.
Right now TurfOps Weekly is a young venture. Like most independent media startups, the audience is growing but revenue takes time to catch up.
If you enjoy the work and want to support it, contributions here help cover the time, tools, and occasional travel required to keep building TurfOps Weekly.
Even a small contribution is a great signal that this kind of industry storytelling is worth continuing.
And if nothing else, thanks for reading.
