It's April and I gotta make an update!

Let address the elephant

I really want to be honest with you guys. I fell out of love with writing daily Haikus after 6 weeks of doing it. This has been giving me pause and providing me with a lot of self doubt. If I can't even remain committed to this task, why should I even try to be building a community and audience? With this mindset I have remained halted in my tracks regarding my writing. I can no longer remain halted. Writing is too essential for my life.

While thinking about this road block before me, I researched productivity management and came upon the idea of 6-week goals and tasks. You plan your next project - typically in a business setting - in a manner in which you CAN complete it in 6 weeks. Long enough to get significant work done, short enough to help you prioritize the tasks and steps needed WITHOUT - and this is the important part - the risk of burnout. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel in a 6 week project, when you can see that it is easy to keep up motivation.

What does that mean for the projects you talked about in March? What about the announcement you never made?

First, I want to say thank you for your patience with me. I am working very hard to find my place, and my voice in this big web of internet writing and content creation. Allow me to answer the above questions!

Projects that ARE happening

  • Starting Sunday April 11th, I will begin a 6 week gratitude challenge with the goal of shifting my mindset to one of abundance and the added benefit of living in the present moment. I will also dabble with a thought experiment to help me with my feelings of inferiority. This will all be on Instagram, and there will be a post every day for 6 weeks.

  • Ever Sunday I will continue to post the Major Arcana Tanka collections until I have made my way through the Major Arcana.

The announcement that never came: I'm starting a newsletter!

I do not know where I am going with this. I want it to be personal, informative, funny - I want a lot of things... But as I mentioned I am just getting my footing, and this is one way I would love to experiment with my writing. Expect 2 posts a month minimum about life - and learning - I promise there will be something in every issue to get you thinking or to entertain you.

That's all I have for now, Loves! Have an amazing April - and I hope you stay in touch!

-Tempy
