“Yes, you do. You just resist them at first sight.”
They walked beside the water.
“Possibly…in the past…yes,” she replied.
“And now?” she asked.
Her eyes drifted to their lake. “Now…they are ever so rare microbursts.”
“How does that make you feel?”
She stopped and smiled at her companion. “Did you just ask how that makes me feel?”
“Yes,” she answered, laughing gently.
Looking softly at her, she replied, “It is both encouraging and unfortunate.”
As they began to walk again, she said, “I’m thankful for it.”
“I hate it.”
Silence held them for a moment before she quietly spoke. “I know.”
