Project Jalori is at the final stage of the waste management chapter.
Cleaning Drives have turned into Trail maintenance drives to keep a check on fresh littering and any new hotspots of waste.
Local stakeholders at Seryolsar lake and Raghupur Fort Trails are segregating plastics into Recyclable and MLP categories as well as cleaning up the surroundings with their guests.
Workshops conducted with Manila Mandal for awareness building with local visitors to the forest trails.
Proposal to include Waste collection and Transportation in the next Forest Department Financial Year Budget has been made. Currently the waste disposal is done with the help of crowdfunding as and when required.
Two waste collection sheds and a tourist interaction booth proposed to the Chief Conservator of Forest.
Expected timeline to complete Phase 3 is April 2023.
Current Crowdfunding requirement is for regular maintenance drive expenses and waste disposal transportation.
Project Jalori is a completely zero funded by any external organisation or CSR. The Project is expected to self sustain after Phase 3 is completed with the help of local stakeholders and authorities.
