The Great Canadian Piggle Invasion

The Great Canadian Piggle Invasion

Dec 19, 2023

How do you solve a problem about an invasive species that has a high reproductive rate, is highly adaptable, capable of surviving any climate, and will eat anything?

When I heard of the impending northern invasion of piggles, this was my first thought.

“Oooo, a piggle invasion! How Canadian”.

I’ve heard the expression that Canada is like a nice apartment above a meth lab.

Truly, one of the kindest countries on earth.

Sending pigs would be such a Canadian thing to do and we’ve all seen a few pet pig videos.

Pickle the pig comes to mind. The camera pans into the living room where Pickle is sleeping on the couch completely wrapped in a blanket with only her snout sticking out. The owner holds an ice cream cone under her snoot and waits for her to wake up. Within a few seconds, her snoot begins to twitch at the smell of the ice cream and then all at once, she consumes the entire thing before her eyes have fully opened.

Adorable

But, alas….

These aren’t the kinds of pigs they are sending.

They aren’t “sending their best” sad to say.

They’ve decided to send us the razor backs from hell.

Yikes!

Why can’t they just send the cute ones 🐷 ?

Is it too much to ask?

These things are destruction on four hooves leaving utter destruction in their wake. Not only are they destructive to environments but they also spread diseases like African swine flu to other pigs on farms.

These feral swine herds often consist of crosses between the wild Eurasian boar and domestic swine which gives the offspring high survival skills and high fertility rates.

They’ve slowly taken over areas in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and are threatening to make their way south.

This hog was first introduced to the North American continent back in the 1500s and has grown to a population of nine million.

They are considered one of the most invasive species on the planet causing nearly three billion in damages to farmland and personal property watch year.

So far, Texas, Georgia and Florida have been documented as having the worst feral hog problem in America.

There are professional hunters… that make a living….

Bwahahahah

I’m just kidding.

These aren’t professionals by any stretch.

Basically, skeeter and bubba on ATVs chasing hogs in the bush with high powered rifles and infrared night-vision cameras.

Let’s just hope booze isn’t involved.

There have been multiple groups of yahoos hunting these hogs and in the last five years have managed to kill fifty-four thousand… in five years.

That’s maybe a two to three percent success rate.

You see where this is going?

Not going well for us I can tell ya that.

Unless we get our heads out of our asses and really figure out an effective way of dealing with the feral menace, expect to see more Marjorie Taylor Green videos of her sniping hogs from a chopper.

There.

I had to watch it and now you do.

A feral pig hunting pigs from a chopper.

I really can’t stand that woman.

Besides BoBo and Tuberville, I can’t really tell who’s the dumbest of the lot.

If there’s an IQ contest between Three toes Sporkfoot Marge, and a feral hog, my money’s on the hog.

I’ve watched videos of professional hunters with elaborate camera systems hunt these things at night with AR-15s and various other hunting rifles. These pigs do not go down easily. Some of them require several rounds just to put them down.

Hunting Hogs with a 50 Cal

There was one hunter with a high caliber Gatling gun stile machine gun and a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on a truck as he drove up and down open fields at night. The mounted spotlights showed these hogs scattering every which way as he attempted to put them down.

Entire herds of swine will move from one area to another if they sense there are hunters looking for them. Incredibly smart and intelligent.

Trapped new RECORD of wild hogs on the club. Hogs everywhere!!!

Other hunters will construct caged areas with reinforced steel gates with one opening to allow the pigs to enter. There is a drop gate switch is attached which allows the hunter to shut the gate trapping them inside.

I cannot imagine the millions of dollars spent year round by farmers trying to keep these hogs from decimating their crops and property.

It seems brutal and cruel, but after seeing the damage they can do to the human body if they ever get a hold of you, I say….

Happy Hunting ☺️🍷.
