The laws of physics can’t explain things which fall under paranormal phenomena. So, it indicates that there are elements that are subtle, so the laws governing them are subtle too.
The laws governing the mind are the modes of material nature(the three gunas). So the mind is a subtle element, but it is material and not governed by gross material laws. Mind is subtle, so it can’t be affected by gross material elements. It is not eternal. It doesn’t get destroyed like the gross material body, nor does it decay like it. Until the soul is material, the mind exists.
