This original composition score employs the modes #Ionian, #Aeolian, #Locrian, plus #Pantonal 12-tone melody and harmony. This composition is inspired by NASA's Perseverance Rover landing on Mars. A character theme, also called a Leitmotif, uses motivic development presented within various harmonizations to illustrate a character in various scene contexts.

The three wind instruments, Soprano Saxophone in B Flat, Clarinet in B Flat, and Bassoon, are played as a trio in classical, chamber style.

The poem which accompanies the music:

The sunset sighs, beautifully exhaling, extinguished.

A wind gusts into warning, red dust swirling from exposure.

Ice crystalizes into jagged shards, day wrenched into sharp closure.

Atmosphere rejected, sent into a silence, movement solidified, a blackness, a vacuum.

Gray beams of light rise with the profile of ghost-like moons into a new night on Mars.
