Here's a great 4 bar pattern from the Michael McDonald classic 'I keep forgettin'. If this song sounds familiar for another reason, its because it was sampled in 1994 by Warren G in 'Regulate' (See the clean version below). I've notated this pattern for both hands to be up on the HH. Leading hand drops down to the snare on the even numbers, beats 2 and 4. Notice the open HH 1/8th note at the end of each bar and the variations in kick pattern with each bar.
